Kitten Season 2019!

Kitten season is here, and vulnerable kittens need foster homes to help them grow strong and healthy! You can make a significant difference in the lives of kittens by opening your heart and home for just a short time to those in need. A foster aids in giving them the critical care and attention they need to prepare for adoption.

Born at the beginning of May, Dumpling was brought to us at only 2 weeks old. He weighed only 3 ounces. He was severely malnourished and suffering from a horrible eye infection. Dumpling was placed in a foster home that will temporarily give him the love and care he needs to grow strong and healthy. Without our foster network, Dumpling would have been left on the street or dumped at a shelter to fend for himself. Dumpling’s foster parents quite literally saved his life.

Too young to survive on their own, kittens under 8 weeks old, like Dumpling, are the most at-risk because of their weak immune systems. Many kittens die far too young or suffer from painful, life-long illnesses caused by a lack of treatment at an early age.

As a foster you:

·      Protect them from diseases and excess stress, which has severe consequences on a kitten.

·      Provide the opportunity to socialize the kitten from an early age, which prevents them from becoming feral.

·      Create a “networking opportunity” for the small feline. You introduce them with family and friends of your community, all of whom may be interested in adopting them.

·      Save their life.

If you have room in your home for a kitten in need—for just two weeks or more!—please consider becoming a foster parent. Join our foster network and save a life. Our network allows our team to quickly place kittens into homes at a moment’s notice. We do all the background questions and home checks in the days or weeks leading up to the kitten’s arrival, which makes for an easy and successful operation in saving their life.

During the foster process, we schedule vet visits, check up regularly on the kitten(s), and start promoting adoption. You’re there to give them the love and cuddles they need to become a happy and healthy cat!

To become part of our foster network, we ask that you fill out our Foster Questionnaire about your work/life balance, your home, and your experience with animals. Once we get this, we’ll be in touch to schedule a home-visit to make sure your home is safe for these small creatures. When we have a kitten on the way, we notify you and make the arrangements for drop off!

Being born on the streets can put a kitten in serious danger but we together as a community, can change that. Let’s do it!
