Shelter Visit 23/3/2019

We begin this post with the announcement of another loss. This week Amy passed away in her sleep. She had been suffering from an infection of the uterus (Pyometra), anaemia, and a heart murmur. She was a fierce little lady with a mind of her own. We will miss her.

Amy is the third female dog this year that we have lost to Pyometra. We are disturbed by this statistic and are putting forward all our efforts to changing it. We have created a memorial fund in their names and will be sharing it on social media in the coming days.

As for an update about this week’s shelter visit: it wasn’t as successful as we had hoped, but we’re still moving forward with emptying the cages and finding everyone a good home!

A new cat showed up to the shelter this week. Gatalunya was able to place it with a foster here in Barcelona and will be sharing more information on her once she adjusts to her new environment.

Seguimos!
