Pep

edad / age: 2 años aprox.

Personality: Pep is a very chilled, relaxed guy. He loves sleeping and to keep things fresh is constantly trying out new spots - be it the dinner table, on top of boxes, a standard sofa snooze, or finding the strangest corners of the home and curling up. He really appreciates peace and quiet, though nothing startles him easily. When the TV is too loud for him, he will simply move and find a spot in another room 🤷🏽‍♂️

He likes to be near his foster family all the time and when working from home he'll keep them company, sleeping on the floor under the desk. He's always where they are, keeping close, a gentle presence following them around. He also greets them with some small meows once they wake up and meets them at the door when they come home: Pep is a bit of a cat-dog. He enjoys pets, and more than anything is about proximity and closeness.

Pep loves to eat and is particularly mad about chicken! As soon as he smells some, he goes from chilled Pep to wild Pep 😹 When his foster family cooks he will quietly sit by them in the kitchen, keeping company and perhaps also hoping that something is dropped on the floor 🤭 Another one of his favourites are the liquid treats. He'll start meowing like crazy as soon as he sees one.

He hadn’t been much about playing thus far, which is likely down to his fight for survival as we’re starting to see the playful inner-Pep come out for the first time! It’s such a joy when our adult cats learn to play. Their basic needs including food and safety are met, and then it’s time to drop their guard and start to enjoy life. Pep has abandoned his unimpressed “what am I supposed to do with THAT?” face and is happily engaging with toys, getting occasional cases of the zoomies, and is so full of life now ❤️

Pep loves to people watch, and really enjoys sitting on the balcony and looking out at the street. This is definitely one of his favourites pastimes. He is described by his foster parents as a very happy guy overall, and very lovely to have around. We waited for some time to have him with us and couldn't be happier that a boy so gentle and sweet is now out of the street and can find a home who will love and value him.

If adopting as a pair we recommend: Pep is the only cat in his foster home.

Can Iive with kids? Yes, but he would prefer teenagers and adults.

Can live with other animals? Yes. Untested with dogs in a home setting but he’s been around them regularly in the street without problem, so we think he'd be fine.

Ideal home: Living with a single person or couple. Pep would prefer a calmer home, to match his energy.

A balcony or terrace is always a plus!

Personalidad: Pep es un chico muy tranquilo y relajado. Le encanta dormir y, para mantener las cosas al día, está constantemente probando nuevos lugares, ya sea la mesa del comedor, encima de cajas, una siesta estándar en el sofá o encontrar los rincones más extraños de la casa y acurrucarse. Aprecia mucho la paz y la tranquilidad, aunque nada le sobresalta fácilmente. Cuando la televisión está demasiado alta para él, simplemente se mueve y busca un sitio en otra habitación 🤷🏽‍♂️

Le gusta estar cerca de su familia de acogida todo el tiempo y cuando trabajan desde casa les hace compañía, durmiendo en el suelo debajo del escritorio. Siempre está donde ellos están, manteniéndose cerca, una presencia bienvenida que les sigue a todas partes. También los saluda con pequeños maullidos cuando se despiertan y los recibe en la puerta cuando llegan a casa: Pep es un poco gato-perrito. Le gustan las mimos y, sobre todo, la proximidad y la cercanía.

A Pep le encanta comer y adora el pollo. En cuanto lo huele pasa de Pep-tranquilito a Pep-salvajito😹 Cuando sus papis de acogida cocinan, se sienta tranquilamente a su lado en la cocina, haciéndoles compañía y quizás también esperando que se le caiga algún trocito al suelo 🤭 Otra de sus cosas favoritas son las chuches líquidas. Se pone a maullar como un loco en cuanto ve una.

Hasta ahora no le había gustado mucho jugar, lo que probablemente se deba a su lucha por la supervivencia, ya que por primera vez estamos viendo florecer al Pep-juguetón que lleva dentro. Es una gran alegría cuando nuestros gatos adultos aprendan a jugar. Una vez satisfechas sus necesidades básicas, como la alimentación y la seguridad, es hora de bajar la guardia y empezar a disfrutar de la vida. Pep ha abandonado su cara de «¿qué se supone que tengo que hacer con ESO?», y está feliz jugando con los juguetes. De vez en cuando le entran ganas de hacer carreteras por todo el piso, y ahora está tan lleno de vida ❤️

A Pep le encanta observar a la gente y disfruta sentándose en el balcón mirando a la calle. Es sin duda uno de sus pasatiempos favoritos. Sus padres de acogida lo describen como un chico muy feliz en general y muy agradable de tener cerca. Hemos esperado algún tiempo para tenerlo con nosotrxs y no podríamos estar más contentxs de que un chico tan tierno y dulce esté ahora fuera de la calle y pueda encontrar un hogar que lo quiera y valore.

Si adoptas en pareja te recomendamos: Pep es el único gato en su casa de acogida.

¿Puede vivir con niños? Sí, pero preferiría adolescentes y adultos.

¿Puede vivir con otros animales? Sí. No se ha probado con perros en un entorno doméstico, pero ha estado con ellos regularmente en la calle sin problemas, así que creemos que con la debida presentación no habría ningún problema

Hogar ideal: Vivir en con un(a) solter@, o una pareja. Pep prefiera un hogar más tranquilo, a la altura de su energía.

¡Un balcón o terraza es siempre una ventaja!
